One of Inhabitat’s favorite high-mileage vehicle is mine too.   They sure know how to find them, don’t they?  This is the Aptera’s competition.  Two different vehicles competing philosophies.  Which one would you prefer?

smartCars are a fascination for me.  I’ve always had a high-mileage, low cost per mile car to drive around.  The smallest one was the MGB circa 1969 that I had when I was young.

These cars are even smaller but I still own a small car.  I always will.  My current one is a Chevy Aveo bought before these puppies were available here in the United States.

Even though one would think that these smartCars are smaller they still are as more comfortable to drive and even safer.

Check this new model offered.

Future Vehicle Technologies – eVaro Electric Sports Car Plug-in Series Hybrid

With Roughly the same room inside as the Smart Car but with better range than the All-Electric Smart Car and Better fuel savings that the combustion engine Smart Car, this car is more in tune with the cars Americans Want to Drive. It’s not quite American-made (Canadian actually), sleek and stylish.  As the company says,

“The eVaro is designed for the high speed commuter, for those people who travel long distances at highway speeds over 70 mph (120 kph) and who enjoy a spirited ride while combining a very responsive and fun vehicle with the highest possible mileage and lowest emissions possible.” and “Between 122 mpge and 325 mpge”.

Looks like it’s getting to be more and more a possibility.  COOL!  If you have a spare $10k or more they are excepting investors.
